Seoul – On 25th October 2019, the 8th GTI Energy Board Meeting was successfully held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, back to back with 2019 Seoul International Renewable Energy Conference (IREC) in Seoul, ROK on 23-25 October 2019. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Republic of Korea and Korea Energy Agency and organized by the GTI Secretariat.
The government officials from the GTI member countries and experts from research institutes took part in the meeting, where they presented the progress of the GTI regional energy cooperation, as well as current trends and policies on technologies of renewable energy and energy connectivity of each member country, and shared the suggestions for further cooperation and connection with neighbor countries.
Delegates also reviewed the outcomes of Regional Report of GTI Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) with satisfaction, and uniformly adopted the newly proposed project concept paper on Workshop: Distributed Generation for Remote Communities in the GTI Region. Moreover, the GTI Energy Work Plan for 2020 was approved.
Accepting the chairpersonship for 2020, representative from National Energy Administration of China confirmed to host and to prepare the next GTI Energy Board Meeting in People’s Republic of China.
