The 10th GTI Environmental Board Meeting was held on 27 March 2025

The 10th GTI Environmental Board Meeting was held on 27 March 2025 in Beijing, People’s Republic of China (PRC). The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China and organized by the GTI Secretariat. The Meeting Venue was at the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO) of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China. The government officials from the GTI member countries and experts from research institutes took part in the meeting to share and discuss their insights on environmental issues for promotion of GTI environmental cooperation.

 

The participants shared information on the achievements under the GTI framework and each member country’s recent progress and strategies in environmental protection as well as information exchange on the Northeast Asia (NEA) regional environmental cooperation, with a focus on national strategies for biodiversity.    They had an in-depth discussion on how to upgrade the cooperation activities among the GTI member countries.

 

The participants actively exchanged opinions on the project proposal from China (Implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework: Roundtable Dialogue and Practice Sharing on Biodiversity Conservation in the Greater Tumen River Region). And the participants agreed to the project proposal.

 

The 2026 Work Plan was approved, and the Mongolian delegation accepted the chairmanship for 2026 and affirmed their commitment to successfully organizing the next Environmental Board Meeting. The GTI Secretariat will closely cooperate with Mongolia and other member countries and follow up the results of the 10th GTI Environmental Board Meeting.
