At the 8th meeting of the GTI Consultative Commission held in Changchun, China in September 2005, the GTI member countries (China, DPRK, Mongolia, ROK, and Russia) identified five key sectors, e.g. transportation, energy, tourism and investment with environment as a cross-cutting sector, as the future directions to generate greater value to Northeast Asia and the Greater Tumen Region in particular.
