Project Title: International Capacity Building Programme on Trade Facilitation for NEA Countries

Background

The GTI member governments would be well advised to draw up policies that can guide the private sector and create a business friendly environment. In this regard, officials of the participating governments should be equipped with sufficient knowledge on the Trade Facilitation Policy, a topic introduced by the Training Programme.


Objective

The main goal of this project is to introduce and provide lectures on WCO Trade Facilitation Policy, the situation of Customs Administration Policy under member countries, the harmonization of customs process among member governments, and the knowledge sharing of UNI PASS system. Additionally, this project aims to establish a networking platform for custom government officials of member countries and experts from international organization. 

 

Scope

The project will consist of four training programs and several visiting programs. Each training program will include 15 officials and experts and the duration of the program will be one week;

  • Training and Capacity Building Program for WOC Trade Facilitation Policy.
  • Training and Capacity Building Program for Information System of Customs Procedure.
  • Training and Capacity Building Program for Bottleneck Problems in the Customs Clearance.
  • Training and Capacity Building Program for Trade and Investment Promotion Policy.
  • Visiting Local Customs Branches in Korea.


Expected Outputs

  • Increase the knowledge of Trade Facilitation of the Trainees.
  • Increase the knowledge of Modernizing of Customs Procedure.
  • Increase the knowledge of Trade and Investment Promotion Policy of the Trainees.
  • Create a working level network between Customs relating government officials.
