GTI Policy Dialogue on Industrial Parks on 5th Sep 2018 in Changchun, Jilin Province of China

The Ministry of Commerce of China, Jilin Provincial government of China, GIZ - the German Agency for international cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and GTI Secretariat co-organized the GTI Policy Dialogue on Industrial Parks on 5th Sep 2018 in Changchun, Jilin Province of China. The Policy Dialogue discussed the current issues on the industrial parks and shared lessons from their experiences among the GTI member countries.
 
The industrial parks were recognized as an engine of industrialization and economic development and had evolved in different shapes and forms. Nevertheless, the debate among policymakers and researchers regarding the economic impact is still ongoing. During the Policy Dialogue, around 40 experts from governments, international organizations, academia, and private sector discussed issues and shared insights in future planning and cooperation actions across four themes: 1) current industrial parks in NEA, 2) tools for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 3) opportunities for business and investment, and 4) regional policy coordination.
 
Also, participants visited a logistics center and the Planning Exhibition Center of Changchun New Area and had an opportunity to review the current status and development plan for industrial parks in Jilin Province.
 
As the outcome of the Policy Dialogue, a Policy Brief will be put together by GTI Secretariat and GIZ for publishing
