The 6th GTI International Trade and Investment EXPO was held on 13-16 September 2018 in Donghae City, Gangwon Province of ROK with the theme ‘The New Northeast Asia Era!: Cooperation, Development, and Mutual Prosperity’. Around 850 companies from the GTI member and other countries took part in the EXPO. Mr. KIM Jaeshin, senior advisor of GTI Secretariat took part in opening ceremony of the 6th GTI International Trade and Investment EXPO and the GTI Economic Cooperation Forum.
The GTI International Trade and Investment EXPO, organized annually since 2013, was hosted by Gangwon Province in cooperation with the GTI secretariat. The EXPO attracted a huge number of private enterprises from both GTR and non-GTR region, and provided exporters, importers, and investors with a platform for business. During the 6th EXPO, contracts amounting to 149 million USD were concluded.
GTI Economic Cooperation Forum was informative and fruitful. The themes of the forum are "Fostering the Development of Sea-land Routes in NEA, Linking with ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ " and " Strengthening China-ROK Economic Cooperation in line with the Changjitu Development Strategy". Experts from China and ROK shared their insights on logistics network, prospects for China-ROK economic cooperation zone and Changjitu Development Strategy. Mr. KIM Jaeshin made the opening remarks, and the GTI Secretariat introduced GTI's work and recommendations in the field of logistics and sea-land transportation in GTR.
The GTI Secretariat, in cooperation with Gangwon Province, continues to make efforts to provide opportunities for the stakeholders in Northeast Asia to further deepen cooperation in trade and investment sector.
