China Agriculture Technical Study Tour visited Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, China

Aiming at enhancing information exchange and promoting the GTI regional cooperation in agro-sector, the GTI China Agriculture Technical Study Tour was successfully co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China and GTI in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Heilongjiang province, China on May 27 to June 1, 2018.

 

Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of Republic of Korea, Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Center Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) of UNESCAP, and the local governments of Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang also supported this activity.

 

With the participation of representatives from the GTI Member States, the study tour visited the agriculture research institutes, state farms, dairy farms, and enterprises for machinery and agro product processing in the above-mentioned provinces.

 

During the visit, participants learned about the latest development in agricultural production. For instance, Eco-friendly agricultural products have become increasing popular in the market. Therefore, enterprises have implemented various advance technologies to meet the market demand, including automatic irrigation, advanced greenhouses and remote control video monitors. Participants showed great interest to eco-friendly way of plantation.

 

Moreover, representatives brainstormed about how to achieve future prosperity through regional cooperation. For example, during their visit to Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Deli New Tech Agricultural Machinery co. LTD, Mongolia participants expressed the willingness to import high-quality wheat seeds and potato machinery from China to adapt to the latest policy in Mongolia. Meanwhile, ROK participant also showed great interest to import good machinery for their major plants.

 

During their visits to agricultural science institution, modern farms and successful agricultural enterprises, participants get an intuitive understanding of that these institute(s), farms and enterprises have encountered to achieve the sustainable prosperity of agricultural production. More importantly, delegates reaffirmed the great potential in agro-sector for regional cooperation in Greater Tumen Area through better information exchange and regional cooperation mechanism.
