Launching of cooperation between GTI Secretariat and the Far-Eastern Federal University of Russia

Memorandum of Understanding between the Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) Secretariat and the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) was signed on October 9, 2019. The memorandum is aimed at developing academic and cultural exchanges in the areas of education, research, as well as implementation of other joint activities involving FEFU and other academic and research institutions from the GTI region with assistance and coordination from the GTI Secretariat.


MOU covers the following areas of cooperation:

-        Establishment and coordination of research and educational exchanges and cooperation of the GTI Secretariat and the FEFU and with other partner organizations in the Russian Federation and in North-East Asian countries;

-        exchange of faculty members and experts;

-        joint research projects;

-        joint scientific, educational and cultural programs;

-        other joint activities as agreed upon by both Parties.


As an initial step of cooperation between FEFU and GTI Secretariat under the current MOU, a second year Master program’s student - Nikita Khrushchev, majoring in the Economics specializing in “Transport and Spatial Logistics”, was selected to undergo a six-weeks’ internship at the GTI Secretariat in Beijing starting from end-November 2019.


The information and materials gained during the internship will be used for student’s master's thesis, as well as for the work of the research laboratory of interdisciplinary research and partnerships of the FEFU School of Economy and Management (SEM). The FEFU School of Economics and Management is committed to high quality training for the modern economy, taking into account current challenges and the needs of the labor market.
