GTI Policy Dialogue on Industrial Parks (Webinar) was held on 23rd September 2020 with the theme of ‘The Positive Role of Industrial Parks in Enhancing the Industrial Chain and Supply Chain Connectivity in Post-pandemic Era’. The Policy Dialogue was proposed by the Ministry of Commerce of China. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Jilin Provincial Government of China, and Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) Secretariat jointly organize the event.
The outbreak of COVID-19 posed challenges to every aspect of our lives. Particularly, the global economy including the global value chain (GVC) and the trade system have been affected. Industrial Parks have played a catalytic role in economic development by providing a sound business environment and policies. Under uncertainties, the concept of the industrial parks might be a tool in responding to the challenges of COVID-19 reinforcing the value chain of North-East Asia. During the policy dialogue, participants from the GTI member countries, and partner organizations discussed issues and shared insights focusing on the topics: 1) Industrial Parks Responding to COVID 19 and Securing the Value chain, 2) Challenges and Suggestions for the Development of Value chain of Northeast Asia in Post-pandemic Era, 3) Positive Role of Industrial Parks in Reinforcing the Value chain, and 4) The Future Cooperation Path and Prospect of the Industrial Parks of Northeast Asia.
